Weeknote 4

Well, what a week it’s been. In the grand scheme of “bad weeks” not that bad but just one where there seemed to be a bump or two in the road at every turn. But, by yesterday morning I’d decided how to manage each thing and brighten up, so today’s first reflection is “sometimes it’s just one of those weeks” and it will pass!

As far as other things I’ve been noticing:

  • Exploring project ideas and trying to make change happen would be much more fun as a “we” but finding the right person/ people is crucial and convincing a potential client that “we” is better than a single “I” (not necessarily me) can be a challenge.
  • Being outwardly creative takes courage- I mentioned last week about putting ideas out there and the same theme has been strong this week.
  • Similarly, while seeing an idea you’ve had coming to fruition elsewhere shows it’s a good idea, it also feels a bit rubbish!

Finally an emerging theme is recognising how concepts that others have placed at the heart of their work several years ago, and that didn’t really resonate with me at the time, are now seeming more relevant and vital. I’m not sure what to take from this, but I guess it’s where my love of learning about new ideas and meeting new people emanates from. Sometimes, it’s the seed of something greater later on, and the best connections and the related learning and opportunities aren’t always immediate.
